Automating Vacuum Packaging with Thermofilm
Thermoforming is fast becoming the most popular form of vacuum packaging in the meat and perishable foods industries, thanks to its efficiency and automation benefits being incorporated into the packaging workflow.
Thermoforming film is a process of which two films (top & bottom web) are separately applied via a conveyor to form around the product to create the packaging. The bottom web is first formed and the top web is then applied after the product has been manually added.
Top and bottom web films can come in either plain or printed formats, to allow for adhesive labels to be applied to products such as nutritional panels, or branding.
